Memory care is an intensive, specialized care for people with memory issues. Austin RNC has created a special Memory Care Community for those individuals who require a higher level of skilled care and supervision.
Because people with dementia are prone to wander, our memory care facility is a completely separate unit with alarmed doors and enclosed outdoor spaces to keep residents on-site and safe at all times. Supervision is provided 24 hours a day, and all our memory care staff members are specially trained to deal with the unique issues that often arise as a result of dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Our memory care community is designed to provide a safe, structured environment with set routines to lower stress for patients with Alzheimer’s or dementia. All our memory care activities are designed to improve cognitive function and engage residents at different stages of the disease.
We know that the aesthetics of the physical environment in any healthcare setting is important. That’s why our interior specifications incorporate the latest memory care design trends that may improve the quality of life for residents. Good use of color and patterns can not only lift spirits; it can also help our residents recall positive memories.
